UK Community Conversation: the relationship between Org Design and Service Design
7 December 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm CET
Free
There is a growing movement and maturity of two design disciplines: Organisation Design and Service Design.
This is particularly prevalent in UK public sector organisations, with a growing desire to effectively involve people in the process of co-creation.
The challenge and opportunity we will explore is what is the relationship between Organisation Design and Service Design? Where do they intersect? What does one demand of the other? What is the golden thread, considering both organisational coherence and understood customer value?
Join us for two opening provocations from the two design disciplines and engage in a rich Open Space dialogue.
#1 Opening provocations
- Organisation Design, the role of strategic positioning and choices, breaking the functional mindset, and embracing real sovereignty and freedom of manoeuvre in organisation design activity – with Chris Furnell and Keith Pople (European Organisation Design Forum)
- Service Design, busting common myths and getting to the heart of the key principles for effective service design, moving beyond superficial engagement and into meaningful co-creation with service users – with Chris Muir (Service Design Academy)
#2 Open Space
We aim to run two rounds of Open Space. This will give the community the opportunity to initiate and explore their own conversations on this rich topic.
